Everything you never wanted to know
3 Nov
My AT&T career started on October 17, 2008, and I have been going through the training since then. I have expanded on my school knowledge immensely since I started. I enjoy the work as much as anything that I have done since I started my life in the workforce.

AT&T is no longer a possibility, but a reality. I got the job and I start on Monday morning. I was never really worried about it, but I did kinda stress. lol But who wouldn’t on such a huge change in direction for their lives? lol

Gilberto enjoying his party
At 7:20 AM on Monday, July 21, while the city of Miami was just starting to wake up, Gilberto Paez, a dear friend died. I only knew him for the year and a half that I have been here, but in that time I have come to love him like a grandfather and a friend like no other. He was an amazing man. 80 yrs old, diagnosed with cancer, and yet he still lived every day like he was a healthy younger man. He was always making additions to his home in the north of Miami with his own hands or with the help of a neighborhood friend.
He was born October 18, 1927 on the Island of Cuba and came to live here in Miami some 45 years ago. He’s been a loving husband, giving friend and generous of heart. He will surely be missed by all who knew him and all who have loved him. He was one of a kind and irreplacable.
We will miss you Gilberto Paez

Why does windows suck so much? Windows XP has a system restore function to “fix” when something happens after making an installation or change to the system. But when you use it, it actually makes problems worse than before. It screws up things that shouldn’t have been screwed up that are totally unrelated to the issue at hand. In some cases it will uninstall things that happened to be installed around the same time as the change you’re undoing. In other cases, it totally breaks the system down and makes it unusable

Today in class I learned how to build a type SC Fiber Optic cable. It is a complicated process that requires an ample amount of patience to complete. You are required to thread a needle blindly, somewhat. The fiber optic core is the size of a strand of hair, surrounded by a cladding that makes it only slightly thicker than your hair. You have to guide it through a hole that is only one micron larger than the fiber cladding. Now, this hole is at the end of a ferrule that you cannot see where you are guiding the fiber through. To boot, you have to guide it through epoxy, then cure it and then cut the end of fiber off that passed through the end, without snapping the fiber before it reaches the hole or breaking the end off wrong, having got it through the hole successfully.

One might think that it is easy to write your thoughts where everyone in the
world can see them, but one would be wrong. Writing your thoughts out for
the world requires a lot of courage to go through with it.
Today, I came to the realization that I need to get more organized
with my thoughts and feelings. I have been so disorganized with my thoughts
and feelings that I don’t always know what is linked to what and where it
came from to begin with.
How does someone go about organizing their thoughts when they’ve
never done it in their life? That is a good question. Some people think
that sitting down and writing them down will help in getting them organized.
I think that it helps too. It forces you to sit and look at yourself and
sort through everything that is going on in your head. It helps you to put
words to the feelings that you are experiencing to get them out into the
open.
